CHAPTER 2
SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES
APPLICABLE WITHIN ZONES
10-2-13: FENCES ON PROPERTY USED FOR RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES:
- Fences shall be erected on or within property lines.
- Property owners shall be responsible for identifying property line locations
- All heights of fences will be measured from the ground level.
- Interior Lots or Parcels:
- Fences shall have a maximum height of four feet (4') in the required yard that fronts on a street.
- Side and back yard fences will have a maximum height of seven feet (7') provided that the seven foot high fence does not extend into the required yard that fronts a street.
- Corner Lots or Parcels:
- Corner lot or parcel fences must maintain a forty-five degree (45°) clear view of intersecting streets, at a height of no more than four feet (4').
- The height of the fence in the front yard on a corner lot or parcel will have a maximum height of four feet (4'). A front yard on a corner lot or parcel is the yard that contains the formal public entrance to the main building.
- Side and back yard fences will have a maximum height of seven feet (7') as long as it does not infringe upon the forty five degree (45°) clear view triangle space.
- Clear View Of Intersecting Streets: In all zones which require a front yard, no obstruction which will obscure the view of automobile drivers shall be placed on any corner lot or parcel within a triangular area formed by the street property lines and a line connecting them at points of forty five feet (45') from the intersection of the street lines.
